Well you guys, this is it, we've reached the end of 2017. This year has been monumental for us and we'd like to thank everyone who has supported us in our dream and vision. Thank you to all of our models, photographers, editors, and our readers! We love you all and we're just getting started.
Let's celebrate the end of 2017 with a recap of all of our models beginning with our ladies...

Ever had those pairs of jeans or sweaters that someway-somehow always get hooked onto your watch, ring, and/or bracelet? Well, we do and we know how annoying that can be. So, what do you do about it? Rule of thumb for us is the less distressed, the less stress. Daniela's sweater was designed distressed but don't be afraid to be frugal, thrift, and make rips of your own. Tip: make sure you add distress in the right locations---meaning place them in spots that your hands seem to come in contact with the least. Your sweater will thank you later.

Matching denim can be flattering if done correctly. It's important to remember a few rinse combos (top-bottom): light-light, dark-dark, light-dark or vice versa. Dark rinses are more slimming on the bottom so our advice would be to focus on leaving dark rinses for your lower half. In addition, if going with similar rinses, it's wise to overlay the denim so you don't look dated. We decided to overlay with the green long-line bomber. However, adding any outerwear or accessories such as a printed jacket, bold/basic shoes and lip color, or carrying a big bag will compliment your look.

Oversized t-shirts can be another comfortable fashion statement. (Yes, fashion can be comfortable) If you have or find an oversized t-shirt, try to get creative with your outfit by cuffing the sleeves, cutting the t-shirt near the collar, or even the bottom hem of the t-shirt for a chic touch. Don't forget to recycle! Old t-shirts have multiple fashion uses if you do a bit of research and keep an eye out for patterns or prints on the t-shirts. Lauren's top was designed sheer but her t-shirt size is about 2x larger than her go-to size in order to have an oversized feel. On that note, we want to say keep sizes in mind too. If you're a small try wearing a large with a bralette, tank top, or over/under a dress to see how it looks. You may be surprised!

High buns are a great way to bring out your facial features and with the high bun we were able to acknowledge Jessica's beautiful eyes and smile. In addition we kept accessories to a minimum. She has on a pair of small hoop earrings and a bow choker turned into suspenders. If you didn't catch that, read that sentence again. YES! We were able to convert her accessories to provide a whole new look and feel. We turned your typical bow choker into a suspender necklace by simply untying and just using the leather cord.

We decided to use a simple black dress that accentuated her beautiful curves. We then layered it with a graphic black long sleeved tee that she got in Tel Aviv while studying abroad in Israel! This just comes to show that style & fashion isn't limited and in fact can be cross-cultural! So, girls, don't be afraid to layer basic graphic tees with your dresses or skirts.

Amanda is wearing a long-sleeved, oversized, turtleneck dress. Naturally, this piece gave her a boxy look so we needed to do something that would compliment her physique. We used the safety pin to tighten the waist and provide a more fitted appeal. Not to mention how cute the safety pin looks! But wait, did you notice her hand candy? Is that piece not just, super cool at the very least?! Amanda just so happened to have that piece and now with this accessory her outfit makes a statement!

We love basics but we also love to have classic pastels items in our wardrobe! These soft hues like pink, blue, yellow, and purple are the perfect classic staple for the summer and spring. When incorporating pastels in your outfit, be sure to mix it with the darker colors such as navy or grey. This technique will help you look slimmer and elongate your body! You can also mix pastels with neutral colors, which will allow for that that pastel piece to pop! You can even mix and match different pastel colors for that soft and bold look!

Here are a few tips for wearing blazers. Blazers with patterns (i.e. pinstripes, polkadots) are an easy way to directly add style to your outfit. However, it's always fun to keep things simple and stick with a basic color (i.e. black, red, navy blue). In relevance to size when purchasing a blazer, be open-minded. One can easily go with a blazer that fits and use it as outerwear or even wear it as a top. However, one can also go one, two, or even three sizes larger and wear it as a dress. Either way, remember that you have options. Don't limit yourself just by looking for your size, remember that you can get creative with your look.

Bralettes can be worn underneath over-sized sheer loose tank tops or a basic t-shirt; it can be paired with high-waisted jeans/shorts, and even with a cute maxi skirt. Because some bralettes come with lacey beautiful designs, it doesn’t matter if it is peeking through some form of clothing—whether the strap is seen with a shirt that falls off the shoulder or tank top/dresses with exposed backs, it is now considered to be a
part of an outfit.

With her legs being covered, we also wanted to focus on providing a balanced look. If you’ve read our posts before, you know that we are adamant about fashion and style being about balance. In this case, rule of thumb is: if the bottoms covered show the top and vice versa. Hence the off-the-shoulder black top you see being paired with the pants. This specific neckline streamlined Donna’s shoulders and beautiful skin not to mention brought a glow to her face and stunning blue eyes.

We know that leather jackets are typically worn for the cooler temperatures, but when done right and with the right fabric, leather can have you feeling and looking cool even under the sun. The key to wearing leather for spring and summer is layering! Our advice would be to pair a leather jacket with a lighter and cooler fabric such as silk or linen. That being said, you can also try other fun, leather pieces like mini-skirts, shorts, tank tops, sandals, and even accessories. For example, you can pair a leather mini-skirt with a light basic cotton tee and a pair of cute sandals for the casual look or go with a pair of thin leather leggings, a dressy tank top and a pair of heels for a night out with your girlfriends. Thankfully leather isn’t limited by age, body shape, or even style!

Most shy away from wearing darker lipstick shades but we want to encourage you to find a shade that fits your skin tone starting with the undertone of the lip color. Essentially, if you have a lighter skin tone, pink undertones fit best while brown undertones are ideal for darker skin tones. All in all, our advice is to experiment. Be bold and take a trip to Mac or Sephora where you can test out lip colors and get advice from their associates. You can also click here for some specific tips on rocking the vampy lip.

Luckily as fashion and style has evolved, boots have no longer only been worn during winter. With that said, ankle boots are trending and for Asha's look they were the perfect pick. Besides the fact that you can wear them with almost anything (i.e. dress, skirt, shorts, etc.) you don't have to worry about your legs being uncomfortable or hot from layering on top of pants. Not to mention, that ankle boots are a great way to compliment your legs and as you can see, Asha has beautiful long legs, so the ankle boots were a perfect touch for both style and appeal.

let’s talk about Ashley’s overall dress and her crocheted knit sweater. Generally for any type of look involving suspenders and straps, the go-to is to pair it with something underneath it such as a long-sleeved shirt or a basic tee. We decided to change things up a bit! Rather than having Ashley wear a basic shirt underneath, we decided to layer with a crocheted knit sweater! The way we accomplished this trick was by pushing the overall button through one of the openings of the sweater and then putting the strap over the button clasping it down giving the outfit a textured and layered look!

If you know how to pair turtlenecks in your own way, turtlenecks can easily become that essential piece in your outfit that can complete your look! Turtlenecks can be worn and paired with: suits, overalls, under dresses, under bold coats, layered underneath others shirts, and can even be worn with a collared necklace! Turtlenecks, like many things, come in a variety of different shapes, styles, colors, and patterns!

Shaina's criss-cross neckline top was a perfect touch of style to her look. Necklines are so ideal to fashion; there are over 100 different types and each can make the perfect statement for you. A balanced silhouette was created with this top and here are a few quick tips for three necklines: button-up, halter, and v-neck.
Button-Up - Balance more masculine button-ups with delicate, layered necklaces. If you choose a loose-fitting silk shirt or tunic style, balance the softness with a chunky, statement necklace.
Halter - No necklace necessary with a halter neck! Pair with a pair of statement or drop earrings, or keep it simple and let the dramatic neckline speak for itself.
V-Neck - The V-neck is such a versatile neckline, you can have fun with your accessories. Wear a necklace that mirrors the shape of the neckline, like a statement piece that reflects the look of the top.

When it comes to patterns we have a few tips from a great resource on how to wear polka-dots: A proclamation of polka dots. If you decide to make a statement (like in a dot-printed dress), keep the rest of your look simple. Just pair with a simple denim jacket and easy accessories. Laid-back & low-key. Polka dots often give off a preppy, Cape Cod vibe, but they can also moonlight as your go-to casual look. We love the easy-going style of a tie-waist blouse paired with your favorite cutoffs and sandals. Feminine charm. Polka dots are inherently girly, so take it one step further to the feminine side with charming details like bows or ruffles.

The one sheer fabric that is most commonly used in designs are loose, flowing with an oversized silhouette that prove to be an inspiration of the finest workmanship. The transparency of sheer fabric allows for the physique to be visible from the outside and adds a magical transformation for any outfit. Originally, the black sheer was an oversized off-the-shoulder top however, when we put this gorgeous outfit together, we decided to tie the straps to the dress to give it a more layered look. This simple addition completely changed the whole aesthetic of the entire dress by complimenting Emilia’s curvy body which made her look stunning.

Wearing a one-piece can be a bit tricky; no one wants to debut a swimsuit and resemble a child or look dated, so with that in mind we have tips below on how you can stay sexy in your suit.
1. Know your body shape! Obviously, any gal in a swimsuit wants to achieve the right silhouette. The key is to find a one-piece that flatters your figure. If you're pear shaped and want to "hide" your hips, try a suit with a skirted bottom. If you're more of an apple shape and want to cover up your belly, then go for a style that has a print or pattern. In addition, curves can be accentuated with bold patterns, and for our fit ladies, cut-outs are your friend.
2. Realize that YOU can rock a one-piece. It's all about finding the right one so if you don't already own one, here are a few great stores to start with: Urban Outfitters, Forever 21, Macy's, Victoria's Secret, and Zara.

Statement earrings are usually something a shopper admires yet never has the courage to purchase and their fear lies in "how do I style these?" Today, we want to inspire you to be daring with our tips below:
1. Be minimalistic. These earrings are called “statement” for a reason—you want them to be your main attraction. Stay away from pairing statement earrings with other accessories. Don't over-accessorize.
2. Mix it up. While some may prefer a match look between their earrings and outfit, you can also turn heads by mixing up colors and patters. With Hannah for example, we kept things simple with a white dress but maintained a colorful look by adding her urban leather ear candy.
3. Day and night. Statement earrings can be worn at anytime. It's all about styling and getting creative. Wear them with a little black dress on a "night out" or rock them with a blazer during the day or a tee on the weekends.
4. Experiment. These accessories also go hand-in-hand with your hairstyle. If you take a look at Hannah we pulled back her hair just enough to accentuate her beautiful fro yet simultaneously drawing attention to her earrings. In our opinion, an updo would be the go-to however, we want you to focus on what fits you. Statement earrings can look just as interesting in other styles.

Let’s talk about accessories. For this specific outfit, we took the belt of her black trousers and made it into a loose tie. This just comes to show that using from the resources that you already have goes a long way when putting an outfit together. Don’t have any statement necklaces? Get creative with different types of belts. Don’t have any ties to mess around with? Use statement necklaces or get a pair of shoelaces that are lying around and tie them around your neck. It’s all about being imaginative with the items that you already have, playing dress up, and making a statement about who you are, how you think, and how you express yourself!

For the warmer seasons, pair your blazers with some denim cut-offs, ripped skinny jeans, or a maxi dress! For the cooler seasons, layer with a cotton long sleeve and a scarf
Wear your blazer with a basic tee or a graphic tee to create a playful and casual look
For night out in the city, wear your blazer a form fitted dress or skirt and a pair of heels to show off those legs
Don’t be afraid to try on blazers in different colors, patterns, and lengths

Both her shorts and her top were bought for $1 each. WINNING! ...and the good news is, that you could do the same. Fact: while thrift shopping can take a lot of time and patience, if you put in the effort, you can leave with style treasure. With Janel, we have a pair of classic Levi's shorts; this brand has made a major comeback (like most fashion) and while they have re-branded and sell items full price, you can find a great pair at spots like Goodwill or Salvation Army as well. Our biggest tip here is to keep an eye out for jeans. Remember, creativity, creativity, creativity---you can always turn a great pair of jeans into distressed shorts or just cut them for a length of your choice.

what’s so great about matching sets is that they’re so versatile and can be pulled off in any season, they’re great for any occasion, and can be styled in so many creative ways! They can be worn in a sophisticated look or in a street style chic way: whether it’s with a skirt and a boxy top, or a bustier with shorts, or trousers paired with stiletto heels and a matching blazer jacket: the possibilities are endless. The best thing about matching sets is that there are no limits and no styling boundaries because any length can go with any cut, slouchiness and looseness go together, and it can be polished and chic and still have a touch of street style infused into one look.

With Niki, we grabbed a navy blue button down shirt that belongs to her boyfriend and left the first two-three buttons un-bottoned, we wrapped the shirt around her chest, and then buttoned up the the shirt to where it was snug around her breasts and transformed it to a tube top! We then grabbed the sleeves of the shirt and tied them into a knot in the front! This was super simple and such a fun way to transform a masculine button up shirt to a chic feminine top! This delicate look brought attention to Niki's neck, collar bones, and her short hair. Oversized button up shirts can be worn with skirts, shorts, trousers, high wasted jeans, and with a pair of heels, platforms, kicks, etc! They can also be worn as dresses, can be worn tucked into a pair of jeans, and can be layered!

When styling with a bodycon dress, it's okay to go bare. Put on a pair of kicks, grab some outerwear or even a bold lip and you're done. Don't feel like you always need to accessorize.Too much body? If you're feeling too exposed, try layers with a flannel, tee, sweater, or denim jacket. Not feeling the dress? Try a bodycon skirt with a crop top to mix things up.

Her curve-hugging dress was a simple thrift DIY and all it took was some oversized safety pins and a midi length cold shoulder dress that she already had in her closet but rarely got any use out of. A simple cinch at the waist turned it into a dynamic yet flattering shape that stood out more than the traditional bodycon dress. Another little cinch at the back base of the dress gave it the "oomph" we needed. Because well if you got, it flaunt it!

Kimonos are great because there really is no wrong strategy when incorporating them into an outfit. It's super easy: you can wear kimonos on top of a crop top & high wasted shorts; skinny jeans & a basic tee; a turtleneck & a pair of trousers; or a mini skirt & bralette. The good thing about kimonos is that they come in a variety of different lengths and patterns and footwear wise you can pair it with a pair of kicks, sandals, slides, slippers, and even heels. With Marilyn's outfit, we converted this kimono into a shirt by using a simple device: s a f e t y p i n s! Again, we love safety pins and they're our bffs when we need a little touch to transform a simple outfit to an outfit that makes a statement. Tuck away, pin away, and even change the way a piece fits your body with the simple use of a safety pin. Make use of those little guys!

Here are some helpful T I P S to keep in mind when you hit the racks:
Make sure it fits your body. Everybody's body is different and they should be celebrated! An important part of fashion is to keep in mind that your body is unique and you have to be willing to look for things that suit your body shape! When you are on your search for a pencil skirt, make sure it hugs your body in all the right places, that it's not too tight, and that it doesn't ride up your body when you walk.
Length. Your pencil skirt should fall on your knee or right above it! Anything too high or too long will ruin the shape of the skirt.
Slit in the back. Depending on the fabric of your pencil skirt and where you get your skirt from, some of them will come with a slit in the back that you're going to want to cut it open after purchase if it isn't already cut. Many of them with the slit sewn together to maintain the shape and structure of the skirt while it's in the store. But be careful while cutting it because you don't want the slit to go too high.
Your style. You can't go wrong with a classic black or grey pencil skirt, but if that's not your style, then that's okay! Go with your own preferences, and aesthetic. No one can be you like you so go with whatever type of style you want and pick a skirt with different fabric, patterns, or prints!

The flannel is by far one of the coziest pieces of clothing anyone can ever own. Flannels are a little bit rustic, soft on the sleeves, and is literally the epitome of casual, comfortable, yet cute attire, both for the ladies and the gentleman. They're so incredibly easy to wear and are great for those days where you are heading to class, running errands, or having study sessions at your favorite local coffee shop or the library. Flannels are a great way to look stylist with whatever you decide to put on whether it's over a pair of ripped jeans, shorts, a skirt, or leggings, the flannel is in fact a trusty and functional item to have in your closet!

The biggest tip to pull off suede is to not overdo it because too much of anything is too much! So if you're thinking about wearing suede, keep in mind to balance the look with other materials. For example, ladies, if you have a suede mini skirt, try to pair it with a leather tank top or a cotton tee. Try to stick with picking Also keep in mind that suede is an extremely sensitive fabric, so before you slay in your outfit, check the weather before you head out the door because the last thing you want is to get your suede wet and damaged. Take the necessary steps to treat your suede items with some TLC (tender love & care) by having a suede brush and a protectant spray that will maintain the suede looking nice and polished.

Jumpsuits can be intimidating at first but if you ask us, with the right tips and search anyone can find one. When shopping for a jumpsuit consider what your needs are. Are you after a casual jumpsuit to wear during the day or something more formal for an evening look? Do you need long sleeves to combat cold weather or will a strapless style help you beat the heat? Once you know your requirements, you can start focusing on the details. In general, styles that are fitted at the waist and then looser on the legs tend to be the most flattering. If you are tall, wide leg jumpsuits that finish just above the ground will be highly complimentary. If you are vertically challenged, you may want to opt for a slim, cropped style instead to avoid looking swamped in fabric.

We love versatility and variety. Streamlined closets. Less prep time. Minimalist is the best way to be. To decide whether an item should be removed from or added to your rotation see if you can find at least three different outfits to wear it with, if you can’t give it to a friend who can. If the sparkly flare pants you just bought only go with a really specific shirt it may be smart to return it. If you don’t have anything to wear it with in multiple ways the chances of you wearing it multiple times is nearly non existent.

Here are some tips to help you begin a minimalist fashion lifestyle:
I. so where do you start? our advice is to head to your closet and narrow it down to pieces that you really, really love. do you really love it? we're sorry but that's not enough --- remember really, really love! (2x) and once you get there, head to rule II and we'll dig a little deeper...
II. keep a monochromatic wardrobe. black + white will be your dominant colors while colors like navy, rose, grey, and beige will serve as your accent colors.
III. choose quality over quantity. it's important to invest in your new wardrobe long-term, but remember to #shopwiser. you will be purchasing less but spending more and there's always a way to get what you want at a price you can afford.
IV. consider each purchase. Buy less, choose well, make it last. This is the overriding principle of any minimalist wardrobe. Focus on fewer pieces of higher quality; only buy clothes you truly love; learn to take care of your clothes and wear them until they fall apart.
